Why is having good mental and emotional health important? When we have it, we have continual healthy and positive thoughts. And continual healthy and positive thoughts create a healthy mindset. We achieve this by seeing every obstacle as an opportunity.

  • Our bad experiences can help us connect with who we are.

The traumatic events in our lives – the experiences that wound us – can help us heal and become all that we can be. A sibling who dies from a drug overdose can reinforce how unhappy our childhood was. It can help us be grateful to be alive and be proud of the person we have become.

  • Our bad experiences can connect us to finding our purpose here on Earth.

When a family member is sick and we help them heal, we might feel empowered to learn more and then help others heal.

  • Our bad experiences can be opportunities for our inner growth.        

Every interaction with another and each circumstance we face can be a tremendous opportunity for our inner healing and growth. When we are lose a job and are out of work for a year, we can grow immensely and attract a job that is an even better fit for us than any job prior.    

When we can convert negative circumstances to learning how to be compassionate, kind, open, patient, balanced, self-disciplined, honest, giving, surrendering, forgiving, trusting, self-sufficient and courageous we see the truth being delivered to us. Here are some examples:

  • Addiction can teach us purity.
  • Anger can teach us love.
  • Ingratitude can teach us gratitude.
  • Hoarding can teach us giving.
  • Depression can teach us to develop hope.
  • Jealousy can build our self-esteem.
  • Frustration can teach us patience.
  • Loneliness can teach us connection to others.
  • Anxiety can cultivate inner calm.

Why is having good mental and emotional health important? When we take the lessons from our bad experiences, as opposed to the mistakes, we can attain greater wisdom and appreciation for ourselves and our lives. And this greater wisdom and appreciation creates mental and emotional health.     

Why is having good mental and emotional health important? The more we heal ourselves, the more we let go of our fear and self-defeating patterns. And when we let go of our fear and self-defeating patterns, the better we feel inside and the more we can accomplish in our time on Earth.

Why is having good mental and emotional health important? Our pain can teach us how to live in the moment. Depression comes about from focusing too much on our past.  Anxiety comes about from focusing too much on the future. There is only one still point and it’s the present moment. And when we can focus on the present moment, we create mental and emotional health.    

Why is having good mental and emotional health important? Our souls grow the most by taking the steps to coming to love ourselves and others. This includes forgiving ourselves and others. And when we can see from the lens of our hearts, we have our mental and emotional health.

As you can see, there is no one right answer as to why having good mental and emotional health is important.
